DCS Corporation Appoints Brian Wood as VP and Division Manager

With great pleasure, DCS Corporation announces Brian Wood’s appointment to the position of Vice President and Division Manager for the Robotic Systems Division.

Brian has 24 years of expertise in systems engineering, program management, graphical user interfaces, software development, network communications, and streaming video. He joined DCS in 1999 and has been instrumental in advancing the company’s ground vehicle R&D initiatives in support of the Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM). These initiatives have concentrated on the design and implementation of software and architectures for ground vehicle robotic and autonomous systems, indirect driving, crew-enabling payload control, and human-machine interfaces for manned and unmanned ground vehicles.

According to Bill Protzman, President and Chief Operating Officer of DCS, Brian has been essential to the advancement and integration of the company’s robotics and autonomous systems capabilities. His calm touch will be a blessing for them in the upcoming chapter.

Prior to this, Brian managed a branch and a department. He will supervise the ongoing development of robotic and autonomous systems, robotic command and control, autonomous architecture, and safety initiatives for GVSC in his role as Manager of the Robotic Systems Division. Additionally, he will support program management for DCS’s newly granted $2.1 billion Technical Engineering Services (TES II) contract with GVSC. Brian graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and a minor in Computer Science.
