The Executive Vice President position of Major General (Retired) Viet Luong has been officially announced by Gigantor Technologies INC, a frontrunner in the development of high-performance Edge AI systems. Major General Luong, who served in the US Army for more than thirty years, offers to Gigantor Technologies his invaluable operational and strategic leadership skills.
Major General Luong’s journey to the United States as a political refugee in 1975 after leaving his birthplace of Vietnam is characterized by determination, selflessness, and dedication to our nation. Apart from his vast fighting experience, Luong was instrumental in important strategic assignments over his career. His leadership was crucial in guiding modernization efforts for the Army and influencing national policy, assuring Army preparedness and efficacy in the face of changing international threats.
The U.S. Army’s Commanding General in Japan was Luong’s last position. In this role, he successfully operationalized his command and strengthened Japan’s force posture against near-peer rivals in the region, putting the U.S. Army in a stronger position against superpower rivalry. Additionally, he collaborated closely with the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force to enhance interoperability and helped the latter increase its capacity, lethality, and defense capabilities for Japan.
