Martina has worked at several prestigious research institutes in Europe, the US, and Australia, giving her more than ten years of experience in the molecular biology field.
Currently, she leads the commercial strategy and created the firm’s successful global partner program at Singular Health Group, an ASX-listed medical technology company that uses cutting-edge technologies to produce patient-specific solutions.
Martina holds a PhD in medicine from the University of Western Australia, a master’s degree in forensic genetics from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, and a master’s degree in genetics and molecular biology from Sapienza University of Rome.
The Nexsen Managing Director, Tom Hanly, expressed his happiness that Martina is joining the board at this exciting time. Her extensive understanding of medical diagnostics, along with her business development and commercial experience, will be a great asset to Nexsen as we start implementing our lead product StrepSure® for Group B Streptococcus (GBS) commercial plan.
There is a great unmet need for an accessible, reliable diagnostic test to improve the prognosis of GBS, an extremely common and possibly lethal condition. Our speedy, inexpensive, user-friendly, and extremely accurate point-of-care test, called StrepSure®, has the potential to save lives and significantly enhance neonatal care outcomes. As we strive to launch this significant product, we are excited to collaborate with Martina.
In her remarks, Dr. Martina Mariano expressed her excitement and honor at starting this new chapter in her life as a Nexsen Biotech director and working closely with the board and management group.
