Steve Rullo, a seasoned digital and technology expert, has been appointed Chief Digital and Technology Officer, according to a statement released today by Guardian Life Insurance Company of America

Rullo joins the position with over thirty years of expertise, which includes a long history of spearheading digital transformation initiatives and creating and implementing technology plans to adapt to changing customer demands. Rullo, who takes over from Dean Del Vecchio, who retired from Guardian in January, will answer to President and Chief Executive Officer Andrew McMahon.

In order to facilitate long-term growth, Rullo’s new position will entail speeding up Guardian’s technological capabilities and digital transformation. With consumers expecting more personalization, speed, simplicity of use, and choice in their experiences and companies need cutting-edge technologies like AI and API connections to grow and enhance capabilities, Rullo was appointed Chief Digital and Technology Officer.

Rullo expressed his excitement about joining Guardian and looking forward to building on the amazing work that has already been done in the areas of digital and technology transformation. There has never been a more crucial moment to take use of digital capabilities and restructure operations in order to engage and assist customers in new ways, as cutting-edge technology continue to disrupt the insurance sector and business.

Previously employed at Great-West Lifeco (GWL) as Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Rullo oversaw IT strategy, governance, and oversight for the operating firms of GWL in the insurance, wealth management, and reinsurance sectors. Rullo worked for General Electric (GE) for twenty years before joining GWL. Most recently, he was the Corporate CIO for Finance and Global Operations as well as the Division CIO for GE Capital.
