Loreli Cadapan Appointed VP of Product at Liquibase, Enhancing Database Management

Top database change management product Loreli Cadapan has been appointed Vice President of Product by Liquibase. The former Director of DevOps at Oracle and MIT combines her experience in developing and leading DevOps teams and products with her ability to sketch out a user-centric roadmap to increase the benefits, uses, and potential of database CI/CD. Using the open-source platform and essential automation, governance, and observability aspects of Liquibase as a starting point, Cadapan aims to enable DevOps integration for any global data storage.

According to Cadapan, She knows how game-changing it is to extend DevOps to the database as a longtime Liquibase user and DevOps devotee. In an era of ever-more complicated surroundings, unstructured data warehouses, and data-driven technologies like artificial intelligence, she was thrilled to contribute to the invention that speeds up application development and simplifies data pipelines.

Together with Kristyl Gomes, the vice president of engineering, Cadapan is forming an all-female cohort for engineering leadership. Cadapan’s decision to join Liquibase was motivated by the company’s demonstrated technology, organizational values of diversity, transparency, and responsible growth, as well as its support of women in tech, STEM, and leadership.

Liquibase benefits greatly from Loreli’s experience running DevOps teams and products, according to CEO Patti Soch. Under her direction, we can reach our maximum market potential and add value not only to application teams but also to the entire modern data pipeline.

Following her graduation from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Computer Science, Cadapan began her career as a software engineer for two startups, one of which went public while she was employed there. She later worked for Oracle as a senior software engineer and manager, where she spent the final five of her twelve years as the Director of DevOps, managing over 250 cloud-based products and 7,000 employees. She further obtained the Advanced Project Management credential from Stanford University during this period.

As Senior Director of Product, Cadapan began a five-year tenure with DevOps/DevSecOps platform JFrog in 2017 and built the U.S. product team from the bottom up. In addition to assisting the company’s growth from an 80-person startup to a publicly traded business with over 1,000 workers, she established a collaboration with Liquibase (formerly Datical) to support JFrog’s clients in enhancing their DevOps competencies. She served as Chief Product Officer at ActiveState for two years, overseeing the company’s business DevSecOps platform for software supply chain security, before joining Liquibase in December 2023.

By integrating DevOps into databases, Liquibase is paving the way for change management in data stores going forward. Liquibase is designed for cross-team collaboration and is the best database DevOps tool (TrustRadius). This allows users to code at full speed and produce consistently and confidently.
