Cepton Inc., a Silicon Valley inventor and leader in high-performance MMT® lidar solutions, has promoted Hull Xu, the company’s Vice President of Finance and Strategy, to Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. Dr. Winston Fu, Ph.D., who will remain with the Company as a strategic project advisor, will be succeeded by Mr. Xu. Dr. Fu will continue to serve on the board of directors as Vice Chairman.
Mr. Xu is a seasoned investment banker with a background in electrical engineering. During his 13 years with the Royal Bank of Canada and Barclays Investment Bank, he helped many public and private technology businesses on capital markets and strategic deals. Mr. Xu led the Cepton Technologies, Inc. and Growth Capital Acquisition Corp, now known as Cepton, Inc. merger transaction as Vice President of Finance and Strategy.
Mr. Xu earned an M.B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
