Compass Minerals Adds Vance O. Holtzman to Board

At its fiscal 2024 annual meeting of shareholders, Vance O. Holtzman was elected to the company’s board of directors, according to Compass Minerals, a prominent global supplier of key minerals. In accordance with the conditions of Koch Minerals and Trading LLC’s (KM&T) strategic equity investment in Compass Minerals in 2022, a Koch subsidiary, Holtzman was proposed for appointment by Koch Industries Inc. (Koch).

Vance has extensive experience working with extractive firms such as ours and brings to the board strong financial skills. According to Joe Reece, non-executive chairman of the board, “he was excited for his input and collaboration as we continue our efforts to optimize production and drive sustainable free cash flow.” Additionally, he would like to express his gratitude to Jill Gardiner and Jon Chisholm for their individual contributions during their time on our board.

Holtzman is KM&T’s senior vice president of investments at the moment. Before taking on that role, which he has had since 2018, he worked for Koch Minerals (the company that preceded KM&T) in a variety of increasingly important capacities, most notably as chief financial officer. Holtzman worked as a relationship manager at Cullen Frost Bank prior to joining Koch. At the moment, he serves on the boards of directors of Hybar LLC, PQ Corporation, and KOMSA.

Holtzman graduated with a Master of Business Administration in energy finance from the University of Texas and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Kansas.

At the annual meeting, Jon Chisholm, a former board member, and Jill Gardiner declined to run for reelection. The current composition of the board of directors is eight members.
