Mike Alvarado Takes Helm as COO of Five Point Holdings, LLC

Mike Alvarado has been named Chief Operating Officer of Five Point Holdings, LLC, an owner and developer of big planned communities in coastal California with mixed-use, beginning immediately. In addition, Mr. Alvarado will stay on as the company’s secretary, vice president, and chief legal officer.

Mr. Alvarado is a seasoned businessman with more than three decades of real estate experience. Since May 2016, he has held the positions of Chief Legal Officer, Vice President, and Secretary for the firm. From 2011 to 2016, he was the General Counsel for our management firm. Mr. Alvarado worked for almost 20 years at the highly regarded California law firm Allen Matkins Leck Gamble Mallory & Natsis LLP before joining the management company. There, he represented financiers, operators, and public and private real estate companies in financing and real estate development transactions involving projects across the nation. Mr. Alvarado received his J.D. from Stanford University and his B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Five Point’s CEO, Dan Hedigan, expressed his excitement at Mike’s promotion to the position of chief operating officer. Real estate has been Mike’s only focus throughout his career. He has extensive knowledge in entitlement and development for master-planned communities as well as a wide range of commercial sectors, such as retail, office, and industrial. Apart from his extensive background before joining Five Point, Mike has had a close involvement with the company’s resources and activities for almost two decades. His contribution to the construction of the internal legal and operational framework that enables us to carry out our development strategies has been crucial. He is the perfect candidate to assist in leading the Company’s operations because of his leadership inside the Company, the bonds of trust he has built with our Board of Directors, and our partnerships, both public and private. Mike’s priorities will include making sure that our business plan is carried out effectively and managing entitlement initiatives in each of our areas. He have no doubt that Mike will succeed in his new position going forward and that his leadership will increase shareholder value.

With its headquarters located in Irvine, California, Five Point creates and builds expansive mixed-use planned communities in Orange, Los Angeles, and San Francisco counties. These communities feature a mix of public amenities, such as parks and open spaces, along with residential, commercial, retail, educational, and recreational components. About 40,000 residential dwellings and roughly 23 million square feet of commercial space are planned for these communities.
