With effect from May 13, 2024, Expedia Group today announced the appointment of Ariane Gorin as CEO. Peter Kern

Since 2013, Ms. Gorin has held a number of senior positions at Expedia Group. Her most recent position was President of Expedia for Business, where she produced exceptional financial outcomes, such as a 33% increase in B2B revenue in 2023 compared to 2022. In her role as President of Expedia for Business, Ms. Gorin oversaw the company’s B2B partner network, advertising division, and worldwide supply partner group, which together provide travel technology to numerous well-known international businesses.

We have all worked with Ariane Gorin, a fantastic CEO, at Expedia Group and our Board for a decade. Expedia Group Chairman and Senior Executive Barry Diller stated, We really wanted an internal candidate to succeed to the CEO position, and after a thorough search, the Board determined Ariane was the best candidate given her exemplary leadership.

Being able to guide Expedia Group as we expand upon the foundations laid by Peter, our team of executives, and our international workforce was an immense honor for him. It has been an amazing experience to lead our multibillion-dollar B2B business, and he anticipate considerably more growth for the overall company in the future. Ms. Gorin stated, He was energized by the opportunities ahead for our employees, travelers, and partners. It’s an exciting time in the Company’s history.

He expressed gratitude and pride in the team that Expedia Group has developed, as well as in their perseverance and fortitude in handling an extraordinarily difficult and ambitious transition. According to Mr. Kern, we have essentially reset the Company for the future and are in position to lead our industry for decades to come. Over the past four years, he has enjoyed working closely with Ariane. She is a demonstrated leader who rises to whatever task put in front of her, most recently leading our wildly prosperous B2B company. In his role as Vice Chairman, he is eager to collaborate closely with Ariane and our leadership group as they build on the momentum we have established and seize every opportunity that our transition has brought about.

In addition to leading the company through the incredibly difficult pandemic years, he spearheaded the organizational and technological change of the Expedia Group.
