Hycroft Mining Holding Corporation, a precious metals development business that owns the Hycroft Mine in Northern Nevada’s world-class mining zone, is happy to announce that it has made urgent changes to its board of directors.
Mr. Stephen Lang has been named Chair of the Board of Directors, succeeding Ms. Diane Garrett, who has served as Acting Chair and will continue to serve as President and CEO of the Company as well as a member of the Board. Mr. Lang has been a member of the Hycroft Board of Directors since 2021 and has extensive experience in mining operations. He is uniquely equipped to lead the Board and team as we pursue the exploration and development of the Hycroft project, given his corporate and board leadership experience.
With the appointment of Mr. Sean Goodman, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of AMC Entertainment, which recently became one of Hycroft’s major stockholders through an equity investment in Hycroft, the Company will also grow and strengthen its board. Mr. Goodman will also serve on our Audit, Nominating and Governance, and Audit Committees.
Mr. Lang has worked in the mining business for more than 40 years, including engineering, development, and production at gold, copper, coal, and platinum group metals operations.
Mr. Lang is the Chairman of Hudbay Minerals and served as the Chief Executive Officer and Board Chair of Centerra Gold Inc. from 2008 to 2012 and has also worked at Stillwater Mining Company, Barrick Gold Corporation, Rio Algom Limited, and Kinross Mining Corporation in senior operational roles.
Mr. Lang graduated from the University of MissouriRolla with a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Mining Engineering.
AMC’s Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer is Mr. Goodman.
He has over 30 years of strategic planning, capital markets, and financial experience.
Mr. Goodman was the Chief Financial Officer of Asbury Automotive Group, Inc. (NYSE: ABG) from July 2017 to November 2019 and of Unifi, Inc. (NYSE: UFI) from January 2016 to June 2017.
Mr. Goodman began his career with The Home Depot, Inc., where he held various senior strategy and financial positions (NYSE: HD) and began his career with Morgan Stanley, Inc. as an investment banker.
