The Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Craig Ehrlich as the new Chair of the Board

The institute is committed to providing exceptional, mission-based orthopaedic care to all children, regardless of their background or insurance status.

Dr. Anthony Scaduto, president and chief executive officer of LuskinOIC, stated that Craig Ehrlich joined the board of directors in 2022 and has been a devoted supporter and significant donor for the organization for the previous six years. With his vast professional experience and dedication to the company, he is an excellent option to guide LuskinOIC into its next phase of growth.

Mr. Ehrlich’s illustrious professional career has given him a wealth of experience. He served as Chairman of the Global Telecommunications Manufacturers Association (GSMA), the largest trade association in the world, for seven years. He was also the previous chairman of renowned venture capital firm Carmel Ventures Asia, which is currently known as Viola Ventures. Prior to this, Mr. Ehrlich was the lead independent director of Bharti Airtel, an international telecommunications conglomerate located in India. He’s served on boards and as chair of businesses in the USA, Taiwan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Israel, China, India, Philippines, and Taiwan.

Well-known for his charitable endeavors, Mr. Ehrlich has a strong commitment to giving women equal opportunities. In honor of his mother, he established over 80 scholarships at UCLA intended mostly for female graduates of public high schools in the Los Angeles region. His dedication includes helping the LuskinOIC Scholarship Program, which focuses on Orthopaedic Hospital Medical Magnet High School students and alumni in particular. Mr. Ehrlich has headed numerous organizations and served on philanthropic boards, such as the UCLA Foundation, Coro Southern California, and the UCLA Anderson School’s Center for Global Management.

The ground-breaking NIL collaboration between LuskinOIC and the UCLA women’s basketball team was spearheaded by Mr. Ehrlich. The collaboration, which has the backing of Coach Cori Close, demonstrates Mr. Ehrlich’s dedication to promoting constructive community change.

Mr. Ehrlich holds a master’s degree from Occidental College, a postgraduate fellowship from the Coro Foundation, and a bachelor’s degree from UCLA. Mr. Ehrlich now splits his time between Los Angeles, Hong Kong, and the Philippines after spending thirty years in Hong Kong.

According to Dr. Scaduto, Craig Ehrlich, the recently appointed Board Chair, will offer LuskinOIC essential leadership and direction. His commitment to the organization’s goals and his vision will assist LuskinOIC achieve even greater success in the years to come.

Originally named Los Angeles Orthopaedic Hospital, Luskin Orthopaedic Institute for Children was established in 1911 and is currently the largest pediatric orthopaedic facility on the West Coast dedicated exclusively to treating musculoskeletal disorders in children.
