Fernando Valle, CFA, has been appointed Sector Head of Energy research at Hedgeye Risk Management, a leading independent financial research and media organization. With 17 years of experience, Valle brings with him knowledge of global financial markets, complex finance, and energy research.
Valle most recently worked at Bloomberg Intelligence as a Senior Analyst for Americas Integrated Oil & Gas and Refining. He oversaw a research group that examined assets linked to hydrocarbons with a market valuation of more than $1 trillion. On Bloomberg’s platform, he regularly offered insightful research and commentary for investors.
Valle covered Global Integrated Oil & Gas and Refiners as an Equity Research Analyst at Citigroup before joining Bloomberg Intelligence. Two years in a row, he received a 4-star Starmine rating from Citi for his analysis. Additionally, he played a key role in the co-authorship of Citi’s historic Global Oil Vision study, which provided ground-breaking analysis on the long-term dynamics of hydrocarbon supply and demand as well as the overall dynamics of the energy markets.
In his new position at Hedgeye, Valle will be in charge of the company’s research coverage on the energy markets. He will use Hedgeye’s in-house analysis to find special investment opportunities and advise customers on important changes and trends in the sector.

Valle’s early career highlights notable accomplishments at SkyBlue Capital LLC and The Transportation Group, where his remarkable analytical talents were first developed through his expertise in structured finance and investment banking.
He earned a double major in marketing and economics from The College of William & Mary. Moreover, Valle has a CFA charter that was awarded in August 2019.
