Paul Mathews has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of Sunnova Energy International Inc.

As Executive Vice President, Service and Supply Chain, Mr. Mathews joined Sunnova in January 2023. He has shown to be an outstanding leader in improving operational efficiency and customer service. With 75% less service backlog, 79% less average age of service work, and 46% fewer escalated customer complaints year over year, Sunnova has greatly enhanced its customer service capabilities under his direction.

Before joining Sunnova, Mr. Mathews worked for UPS for almost 20 years in a range of increasingly responsible leadership positions, such as President of Engineering – Strategy and Planning and President of U.S. Industrial Engineering. In these capacities, Mr. Mathews oversaw the long- and medium-term strategic planning for the worldwide engineering transformation and UPS industrial engineering, which included organizing and carrying out global engineering and operations plans to minimize costs and boost productivity.

Mr. Mathews will oversee the following teams at Sunnova in his role as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer: Field Service, Supply Chain, Procurement, Industrial Engineering, Customer Care, Real Estate, Quality Assurance/Quality Control, Fulfillment, Software, and Business Technology. The company’s dual goals will be to fulfill its commitment to providing excellent customer service and to increase operational leverage and efficiencies.
