Mark P. Board has been appointed as a Director of Hecla Mining Company, beginning February 23, 2024, the company said today.

Since 2020, Mr. Board has served as the president of M Board Mining Consulting, LLC. Before that, from June 2014 until his retirement in June 2020, he was Vice President of Innovation and Technical Services for Hecla Limited, a division of Hecla Mining Company. Before that, he worked as a consultant engineer with Itasca consultant Group, providing stability evaluations, mine design, and mine evaluation for open pit and underground mines across the globe. Mr. Broad received his PhD in Geological Engineering from the University of Minnesota and has over 45 years of experience as a mining and geotechnical engineer.

Hecla Mining Company, which was established in 1891, is the biggest producer of silver in the US. The Company is building a mine in the Yukon, Canada, in addition to operational mines in Alaska, Idaho, and Quebec. It also holds many exploration and pre-development projects in renowned silver and gold mining zones around North America.
