Before PDC Energy, Inc. was purchased by Chevron Corporation in August 2023, Mr. Brookman was its president and chief executive officer, having held those positions from January 2015 to August of that year. After beginning his career at PDC in July 2005 as Senior Vice President-Exploration and Production, Mr. Brookman was named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in June 2013. From June 2014 to December 2014, he held the dual roles of President and Chief Operating Officer. Before joining PDC, Mr. Brookman held a number of operational and technical roles with escalating responsibilities at Patina Oil and Gas and its precursor, Snyder Oil, from 1988 to 2005. He concluded his tenure at Patina as Vice President of Operations. Furthermore, Mr. Brookman was previously the chairman of the board for Protect Colorado and Coloradans for Responsible Energy Development. Mr. Brookman graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a B.S. in petroleum engineering and the University of Colorado with an M.S. in finance.
James B. Lebeck has been promoted to Executive Vice President and General Counsel by the Company. Since January 2023, Mr. Lebeck has held the positions of General Counsel and Senior Vice President.
