Gonzalo Hernández Jiménez and Germán Arce Zapata have been named independent directors of Aris Mining Corporation, as of right now

Mr. Arce has been assigned to the Compensation Committee, and Mr. Hernández has been named to the Sustainability and Audit Committees.

The two nominations come after Mr. Hernan Martinez, a director of the company and its predecessors since 2011, unexpectedly passed away in late 2023. It will be terribly missed, Mr. Martinez.

Aris Mining Chair Ian Telfer made a statement. He was happy to have Germán and Gonzalo join the board of Aris Mining. Gonzalo and Germán possess substantial understanding of the political and business environment in Colombia, which will be beneficial to the Company as we carry out our plans and projects there.

Mr. Hernández is an economist from Universidad Javeriana, where he received his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. He also serves as a professor in the department of economics there. The biggest and principal oil and gas corporation in Colombia, Ecopetrol, has Mr. Hernández as a director. In addition, he serves as a director of Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional, an infrastructure-focused development bank based in Colombia.

The role of Technical Vice Minister of Finance and Public Credit has been occupied by Mr. Hernández. Additionally, he served as an administrator of resources for the General System of Social Security in Health (ADRES) and as a member of the Bicentenario S.A.S. Board of Directors. He has served as Universidad Javeriana’s research director and chair of the department of economics.
